City Corporation to intensify " say no' to plastics campaign

Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has intensified its campaign to abolish plastic bags within the city Corporation limits, Shopkeepers still using plastic bags below 50-micron level, would be penalized if they do not fall in line. 

The ongoing drive against plastic bags has been given a new thrust from May 1 by the civic body, and shopkeepers are advised to switch over to environment-natives said CCMCommissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan 

Inspecting source segregation at ward no 86 including Karumbukadai the Commissioner said that mosquito eradication measures are being expedited within the corporation limits. 

The commissioner also inspected the ongoing storm water drains work which is being carried out at an outlay of Rs.39 lakhs during his inspection visit.
